Mission Statement:
To be the premier Glass Union Contractors Association optimizing relations between Labor and Management towards the positive growth of the glass industry.

The Northern California Glass Management Association (NCGMA) represents union glass installation contractors. Our primary purpose is to represent and promote the best interests of our members in all areas of labor relations.

We also keep members informed about current business trends, provide a place for members to go for legislation and regulatory issues, and provide educational training programs for owners and their office personnel.

A Letter from our President: John Maggiore, President NCGMA, and President of Royal Glass Company.

The first quarter of 2009 has been different for the Northern California Glass Management Association. We even had to add two pages to the newsletter which includes an article on the Franciscan Glass Company.

On January 22nd Dr. Jeff Dietrich from the Institute for Trend Research presented his “Economic Forecast for 2009” which was informative, but not very uplifting. Remember…It was intended to help us plan for the coming year, not make us feel good.

On January 29th we had our very first “Glass Management Awards” event held in our offices at 5677 Horton Street in Emeryville, CA. While the contractors and guests watched awards were given to 24 honorees.

We just received confirmation that the Painters and Allied Trades LMCI approved a grant request in the amount of $250,000 towards the construction cost to build a new Journeyman & Apprentice Training Facility. In the letter the Painters and Allied Trades LMCI highlighted how much they appreciate the support of DC 16 and the Northern California Glass Management Association, NCPFC, NCDCA and the NCFCA.

Our “Where in the World is NCGMA”, a program developed to facilitate the NCGMA staff visiting every signatory contractor in the next year continues to be active. Recently we visited a number of signatory glazing contractors including: Western Waterproofing Company and Rainbow Waterproofing.

I would like to extend a welcome to the new signatory glazing contractors added to the DC 16 list since our last newsletter. They include: Golden State Glass, Oakland Board, City & County of San Francisco, and Oakland Housing. We currently have 137 signatory contractors.
